It was the ability to process existing information, turning it into knowledge, that allowed primitive people not only to survive in a fierce competition, but also to socialize. Socialization required communication initially between individual individuals, communities, tribes, and then states. It was the language, as a primary means of communication, then communication systems and modern information and telecommunication systems that made it possible to form a modern information society with all its advantages and disadvantages.
