Reprint from the publication. SPb., 1899. Nikolai Ludwigovich Gavalikovsky (1868 - 1922) - ballet dancer, ballet, dance theorist, dance maker. Gavalikovsky graduated from the St. Petersburg Theater School in 1887 with a commendable sheet, since 1899 he was appointed teacher of ballroom dancing at the same school. The book includes the most common ballroom dancing and their description: polonaise, a waltz of three and two PA, Viennese waltz, polka, gallop, mazurka, personnel, pancakers, Krakowyak, Hungarian, cotillon and Tom-Tit. Gavalikovsky is the author of two dances: Shacon and Mignon. At the end of the book - the terminological dictionary.
