Distributed systems

In the third edition of the classical work of the professors of Amsterdam University, Andrew Tanenbaum and Marten van Stin, the principles and paradigms of distributed systems are discussed.
In addition to extensive theoretical material, the book shows the Python code (posted on the publishing house), demonstrating the use of the acquired knowledge in practice.
Among the topics considered: the main characteristics of distributed systems, architecture of software components included in the system, processes and communication, assignment of names, consistency and replication, failure tolerance and safety.
