The book is devoted to the theoretical and practical implementation of digital video information systems. The material contains nine parts consisting of 23 chapters.
Part I outlines the problems of the digital transformation of static and dynamic images, the volumes of information when converting images into digital form are evaluated. Part II is devoted to the research of the problems of statistical and visual redundancy of images, the methods of effective entropy coding are presented, and the possibilities of using the visual redundancy of static and dynamic images are evaluated. Part III discusses direct coding, coding with prediction and group coding of images, methods of block and fractal coding, and multiple image processing. Part IV outlines the methods of improving the quality of intra -coding of static images, the principles of analysis of movement in dynamic images, the ideology of image processing in a multiple analysis. Part V is devoted to the analysis of the methods and standards of coding of static and dynamic images, some problems of the implementation of coding devices and visualizing their parameters are considered. Part VI analyzes the main characteristics and digital representation of speech and sound information, a description of the main standards of coding of speech and sound is given. Part VII is devoted to the analysis of the main methods of channel coding and modulation of digital information. Part VIII gives a description of the main standards of digital TV broadcasting. Part IX is devoted to the presentation of the standards of multimedia television and radio broadcasting, as well as the problems of the implementation of video conferencing systems based on the use of ITU-T recommendations.
The book is addressed to students and specialists of the telecommunication industry working in the field of processing and transmitting video and sound information
