The proposed publication contains ballet libretto, published in Russia from 1800 to 1917. All the texts placed in it are given not only in the full version without any bills, but with the preservation of author"s spelling and punctuation. They are placed in two volumes ("St. Petersburg" and "Moscow") in accordance with the place of implementation of a specific production, which belongs to the libretto. Since different choreographers often addressed the same performance (or one author for some time), the publication often presents different options for the libretto, which allows us to evaluate its gradual transformation. The book will be interesting to the practices of the musical theater (performers, teachers, choreographers), its theorists (art historians, ballet scenes, theaters) and all interested readers
