If the dogs did not block, like mad, at the unfamiliar van at the door of the Palace Kitchen, the queen would never know about the weekly visits of the Westminster mobile library. But, climbing the steps of the van to apologize for the noise raised by the dogs, she, in the end, chose a novel by a half-selling writer Ivey Compton-Bernett. Reading did not attract the queen, but the upbringing did not allow to leave the book to be deranged, and then, so as not to seem like impolite, she took another one. The second, chosen successfully, awakened her Majesty"s passion for reading, with time it became so strong that because of her, the queen began to neglect his duties. And, while the Queen read everything - from Thomas Hardy to Anita Brookner, from Prut to Beckett, - Courtful entered into collusion to stop her literary Odyssey. Lained every pitue and an unusually cheerful book, the "not an easy reader", is a wonderful argument in favor of reading, expressed by one of his greatest chambers, Alane Bennet
