In the monograph of the head of the Department of Moscow Pedagogical State University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of RAO, Laureate Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of education A. N. Dzhurinsky considered the genesis and the current state of comparative pedagogy as one of the important branches of pedagogical knowledge. An analysis of the theoretical and methodological foundations of comparative pedagogy is given. The trends in the development of pedagogical thought in Russia and in the world are comparable.
