The book contains articles by domestic and foreign scientists exploring comics, as well as their animation and film versions, in three regions: Russia, the USA and Japan. Each of the three sections covers such approaches to the study of comics as representation of images, historical retrospective, gender research, psychoanalytic concept, narratology, cinematic techniques, etc.
The collection was prepared mainly according to the materials of the performances of the V International Conference World of Comics, held on March 14, 2020 at Ikvia NIU HSE (Moscow).
The book is addressed to a wide circle of readers - academics and specialists of various disciplines, interested in the study of comics from a professional point of view, as well as all fans of Russian, American and Japanese comics
