Emmanül Gibert is one of the most authoritative French comic: the holder of the Grand Prix of the International Comics Festival in Angular and the Prize of Rene Gosinni for scenario skills. At thirty, Emmanuel met the sixty -year -old Alan inigram Cope, an American soldier who went through the Second World War. A strong friendship ensued between them, and over the next twelve years, Emmanuel recorded Alan’s stories about his military everyday life, leaving far from the battlefields, ridiculous cases at the front, which threatened the life of the soldiers, and meetings with a variety of people who played an important role in his fate.
