This comic book tells about more than a hundred writing systems: from ancient times to the present day, starting with cuneiform, ancient Egyptian and Chinese hieroglyphs and the first alphabets, ending with modern Emoji and signs of invented languages like Klinonsky. It is amazing how different ways can be fixed oral speech, what extraordinary stories are associated with many writing systems! It is incredibly exciting to consider all kinds of symbols - they are beautiful on their own, even if you do not know their meanings.
The story of a huge variety of signs and writing systems is unfolded in time and space. The book gives a general idea of the topic, and of course, cannot accommodate all systems of writing, because, according to scientists, in its entire history humanity created 292 such systems and not all of them are deciphered. But today more than half of the existing writing systems that existed are available on each computer. The possibilities of coding are increasingly becoming, more and more fonts are displayed without problems and are used on a computer or smartphone. We live during the final victory over illiteracy - when our own writing can be created for each language of our planet and is available in all corners of the world by clicking mouse.
