Once in Algeria, the cat ate a parrot, boring his beloved mistress, speechless and wanted to go through the bar-Mitsva-this is how the philosophical, witty and unusually funny comic book series, which conquered millions of readers around the world, begins.
“Rabbi cat” is also a fairy tale for adults, raising the problems of xenophobia, racism and the contradictions of the currents of Judaism, and the story of the peoples who lived in Algeria, and the fable with the heroes-living ones. In 2011, based on comics about the charismatic speaker, John Sfar shot a cartoon, which received the Cesar Award.
The book includes five stories about the cat’s cat: “Bar-Mitzva”, “Lion King Malka”, “Exodus”, “Paradise on earth”, “African Jerusalem”
