The graphic novel-encyclopedia, based on the biography and work of the writer-folklorist Pavel Petrovich Bazhov.
21 artist from all over Russia worked on the comic book.

Pavel Petrovich Bazhov entered the history of Russian literature as the author of tales based on the Ural folklore. Tales are copyright fairy tales imitating the ancient oral traditions of the Ural workers and based on local history material. The most famous collection of the author is the Malachite Casket, which presents the stories of the mistress of the copper mountain, Danila-master and others. Bazhov combined the magic stories with stories about the real life of the miners of the Urals. Today, due to the archaic Russian language with rare regionalisms, it is difficult to perceive young people, so the authors of the graphic novel decided to put the writer"s works in a new form.
The book consists of three parts: Bazhov’s biography, fairy tales “Malachite box” and fan fictions are short “distinction” humorous and surreal stories. At the end of the book, readers will find additional materials and sketches of artists.
Most of the stories were written by a researcher at the museum of Pavel Petrovich Bazhov Georgy Grigoryev, and 21 artist-comxist from all over Russia worked on the visual part. Most illustrations are strict, on a black background, but there are also very joyful ones, for example, manga made by yellow paint. The drawings are diverse, so the comic turned out completely not monotonous.

The authors of this graphic novel decided to clothe the work of the Ural writer in a comic book, because a bright, not similar to anything else “Malachite box” is not inferior in diversity and colorfulness to the best works of world fantasy.
