The creative path of Edmon Baudouin is difficult to call usual: his first book was published in 1981, when Edmon was almost forty. Until the age of thirty, Baudouin worked as a simple accountant, but an unexpected turn of fate allowed him to devote himself to the work of life - drawing. Today, Edmond Baudouin is a recognized classic of an author’s comic book, whose individual poetic style had a tremendous influence on the work of a whole galaxy of contemporary artists, and not only in Europe, but also in Japan and the USA.
"Pierrot" is perhaps the most personal work of Baudouin, in which he immerses the reader into the atmosphere of his childhood, held in the south of France. But this is not so much a membrane book as a book-thinking: how to make children"s dreams remain with us all their lives? When, and most importantly, why do we stop flying? And how to extend childhood?
