The author united five fabulous plots from different countries: in addition to our reader, the Cinderella and Chumaz of the Devil"s Cinderella and one Chinese fairy tale are presented to our reader. The skill and ingenuity inherent in Daiziro Morojosi allowed him to realize his plans so much lively and convincingly that from almost the first page the reader involuntarily begins to participate in action and wedge into the conversations of the characters. This is the power of a fairy tale multiplied by talent.
Author"s afterword: In the past, I already painted manga based on the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers. It was published in two volumes: the first, "Lady of Labor", went out in the publishing house "Asahi Sonorama", the second, "Snow White", was published "Tokyo Soganusy". Seven years have passed since then. At that moment, I decided that there was enough fantasies in the spirit of Grimm, but the collection of fairy tales and folk traditions, which became the work of their whole life, was not going to let me go so easily. My hand itself began to draw "Cinderella, and this beautiful fairy tale turned into a story about a girl who is saving from the curse of shoes. During work, I constantly reflected on whether the marriage of Cinderella with the obsessed shoe fetish prince could be happy. Separately, it is worth noting a very unusual story "The Chumazy Partian of the Devil". The reason for his pretentiousness is my long -standing desire to realize the plot on the topic of friendship between the devil and the mere mortals. At the same time, I was interested in Japanese tales, and I decided to take away those of them on the basis of which it was possible to draw manga. Having begun to publish in the magazines "Nemuki" and "Nemuki+", I began to draw stories that I liked at that moment, without selecting only Western or Japanese plots for work.
"Princess Uriko" has become an interesting experiment: it is a plot noticeably different from my last series "Monsterian Hunter". In fact, I wanted to draw a manga about her and Amanjaka since I read the book of Kunio Yanagita, in which Princess Uriko was characterized as "Miko, wearing a divine robe." As a result, I got an international hodgepodge: two mangs according to the plots of Western fairy tales and two Japanese. When the question arose about adding another story, my imagination transferred me to China. So appeared "Zhucin". "Zhucin" is included in the collection "Description of the Miracles of the Liao Cabinet." Perhaps this story is familiar to the connoisseurs of creativity Osamu Dadzai. I personally do not like Dazy’s tendency to moralizing and therefore in his shift presented the usual adventure manga. However, I"m not entirely sure that I was well succeeded ...
At the end of the Segunate period and at the beginning of the formation of the Meiji era in Nagasaki, the word "Vacuran", meaning the fusion of Japanese, Chinese and Western cultures. I am flattering myself with the hope that my Vakaran was a success, although I understand deep down that with regard to the selection of material, the collection is more like a pizza or okroshka. In my defense, I want to say that I tried to make stories as interesting as possible for readers. I hope I managed to achieve this (Dazhiro Morokhosi)
