New time, new field. The changing world of qualitative research and new technologies

The book is devoted to issues of quality methodology and planning research projects. The main idea of ​​the book is to order an important role of research reflection on what methodological elections social scientists face in the process of qualitative research. Unlike classic textbooks, where discussions about the variability of objects of research and methods of studying them remain beyond the scope of consideration, the authors of collective labor problematize such basic concepts as “research”, “quality”, “boundaries of the object”.
Twelve cases from the field of science, technology and innovations are included, in which the authors describe in detail the search for analytical tools. On the materials of the Internet research, alternative mobility, stem cells and other innovations, the authors show the complexity of technologies that can act as an object and a research tool. A separate part of the book is devoted to rethinking the roles of participants in the research process and forms of cooperation, as well as new technologies in organizing “joint” forms of knowledge and representation of vulnerable groups.
