Jekil and Hyde - a graphic adaptation of the most famous fantastic work of R.L. Stevenson. The story “The Strange History of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Haid” (1886) from the very first months after the publication was replicated by tens of thousands of copies, she was discussed in advanced newspapers and magazines, theatrical productions were put on it, she was dedicated to sermons in churches. She firmly entered the world fiction fund, and her heroes are currently continuing to be an integral part of culture. The authors of the comic adaptation, the artist Lorenzo Mattoty and screenwriter Jerry Kramski, fully paid tribute to the original source. With the help of saturated colors, deceptive shadows and abstract figures, turning before their eyes into people or animals, they created an anxious, frightening atmosphere, which reflects the very essence of Stevenson’s story - the duality of human nature. In 2003, the book became the laureate of the Willian Icener award. About the authors: Lorenzo Matotti - an Italian artist, author of comics, screenwriter and director. His works were exhibited in art galleries around the world and published in the most famous magazines such as The New Yorker, Le Monde, Suddeutsche Zeitung. Matthotti is the laureate of the Willian Icener Prize, the holder of the Grand Prix of the International Biennale of illustrations in Bratislava, as well as the nominee for the Angula International Comics Award, Ignatsa Award and the Max and Moritz Prize. For a long time he worked in the fashion industry, and also acted as a director of cartoons “Fear [and] darkness” (2007) and “The famous invasion of bears on Sicily” (2019) Jerry Kramski is a screenwriter. Together with Lorenzo Mattoty, he worked on the comic adaptation of Jekil and Hyde and the cartoon “Fear [and] darkness” (2007)
