Tardi - a cult commander, a classic of a French graphic novel, twice laureate of the Aisner Award, winner of the Max and Moritsa Award and other awards, the author of the comic book series "Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanca", which was filmed in 2010 by Luke Besson.
"In the trenches" - the best anti -war comic book of the millennium dedicated to the First World War, which was published in 1993 and was highly appreciated by Arts Spiegelman. The plot center is not grandiose plans, politics or greatness of the war, but people who find themselves in a whirlpool of terrible events. Based on the stories of grandfather Tardi, the book talks about how the XX century, the century of industrialization and death began: from the incident to Sarajevo, the massacre of the IPRA, the Verden meat grinder - evidence of glaring human cruelty.
