Life throws Tintin a new puzzle. This time, his attention is attracted by an empty tin can and a breakdown of the label with a somehow scratched word “Karabujan”. Soon, our hero finds out that this is the name of the dry cargo, which is preparing for sailing. Intrigued, Tintin climbs on board the ship and ... is in the hold, tied hand and foot. Fortunately, Mila manages to gnaw the ropes. Freedom! Examining the ship floating in an unknown direction, Tintin stumbles on boxes with crab canned goods. But much more curious something else: the exactly the same can Mila fired from the urn at the very beginning of the story! Tintin decides that it is time to eat: even a moment will become clear what secret a yellow label with a large red crab hides ...

“The Adventures of Tintin” is a world -famous series of comics of the Belgian artist Georges Reme, who worked under the pseudonym Erja. Risking life, the brave reporter Tintin is investigating mysterious incidents, but of all the troubles, he comes out the winner. And no matter what happens nearby, always his faithful friend, the white -and -white Foxsterier Mila.

The ninth comic book “Crab with golden claws”, created by Erge in 1941, became a turning point for both the series and its author. Firstly, the journal versions of Tintin"s Adventures began to be printed not in the children"s application to the newspaper “XX century”, which closed from the war, but in the main Belgian newspaper Le Soir, first in the weekly youth application of Soir-Jeunesse, and then in Basic publication. Secondly, the “crab” was the last volume, the first version of which was released in black and white (then there was only color, immediately) Thirdly, it was in the process of working on this album that the Casterman publisher decided to reduce all albums to the standard volume: 62 comic book strips (64 typographic pages) Curious, the decision was by no means dictated by an artistic intention, but by the acute deficiency and high cost paper. The publisher wanted to reduce the price of the album, making it more affordable for the general public (black and white versions of albums included more than 100 pages) This decision forced Erje to seriously process all previous stories, adjusting them to a new format. Fourth, the incredible success of the album edition of Crab convinced everyone-readers, and the publisher, and the author-that the future of the BD (from French Bande Dessinée) is not in journal publications, but in albums. And, finally, fifthly-and in the main ones! - Captain Haddok appeared in the series
