The widower of Ryoti Miyamoto, an ordinary middle -level employee, suddenly marries Akiko Ivaki, a successful careerist. His little daughter Miyuki, still yearning for a deceased mother, accepts the appearance of the stepmother in the house in bayonets. Akiko is trying his best to become her caring mother and housekeeping, but for a former careerist, who has long devoted all himself to work and therefore does not sometimes know elementary things, this turns into an infinite series of comic situations. Gradually, the ice in the relationship between the stepmother and his daughter melts, but Miyuki begins to ask himself: why dad and akiko got married and why do they behave not like other married couples?
