This monograph is dedicated to the issue of color designation in the Russian language. The first part of the book consists of a series of articles that illuminate the role, history of development, and various functions of color naming words, including their use in advertising and other aspects of practical application. The second part contains a 'Catalog of Color Names', which includes over two thousand words and phrases from modern Russian language for expressing color, as well as a list of color names from the 12th to the 20th centuries that are no longer in use. For the first time, a large group of words with advertising characteristics is explicitly presented.
The book will be useful for philology researchers and can also serve as a practical guide for a wide range of readers.
