Collocations of the lexico-semantic field 'moving forward' in English business discourse

The monograph presents a comprehensive analysis of British and New Zealand collocations within the lexical-semantic field of 'moving forward' in business discourse from the perspective of their linguopragmatic and functional characteristics, as well as in the context of their ability to have a speech impact on the recipient. The study plays an important role in the theory of combinatorial lexicology, focused on the analysis of syntagmatic relations established between linguistic units, as well as the study of their combinatorial possibilities, considered through the prism of the linguocultural specificity of business interaction. The work also addresses the problem of identifying the type of pragmatic charge of the collocation, characterizing its ability to influence the mental and emotional sphere of human consciousness.
The results of the study can be integrated into the content of academic courses and programs on professional, business and/or intercultural communication, lexicology and stylistics of the English language, dialectology, as well as in the development of recommendations for the translation of collocations in the process of negotiations of the business community representatives. The practical results obtained, as well as the comparative methodology proposed in the work, can be applied in the consideration of collocations of various lexical-semantic fields based on other languages, in the compilation of glossaries and the development of collocation dictionaries, as well as in the preparation of textbooks on the relevant disciplines.
