The new collection of works by Genrikh Sapgir is an attempt not only to gather together a large part of the writings of this remarkable Russian poet and prose writer of the second half of the 20th century, but also to create a certain integral image of this unique (even for this period of our literature) universal writer. He not only wrote with equal pleasure for adults and children, but also seemed to embody in his words the Larionov-Goncharov concept of 'everythingness': the combination of all known ideas, styles, and techniques of contemporary writing, simultaneously radically avant-garde and deeply rooted in the most profound national tradition, engaging in a constant provocative dialogue with it. The second volume of the collection, titled 'Myths,' includes various genre works by Genrikh Sapgir that appeal to the reader's mythological consciousness: from traditional ancient and biblical plots, decisively reinterpreted by the poet, to the ongoing mythologization of the everyday life of the Moscow bohemia of the 1960s-1990s happening before our eyes.
