Georgy Georgievich Demidov (1908-1987) was a physicist, a student of Landau, a prisoner of the Kolyma camps, an outstanding Russian writer, and the author of stories and novellas about the life of prisoners in the Gulag.
In the publishing program of the Museum of the History of the Gulag and the Memory Foundation, in collaboration with Ivan Limbakh Publishing House, with the participation of the Museum of the History of Russian Literature named after V.I. Dal and the 'Vozvrashchenie' publishing house, the Collected Works of Georgy Demidov in 6 volumes are being released.
The second volume, 'The Orange Lampshade', includes three novellas about the year 1937 (the time of the Great Terror - a period of mass political repressions): 'Foné Kvass', 'The Orange Lampshade', 'Two Prosecutors', and previously unpublished materials from the investigative cases of G.G. Demidov.
