Georgy Georgievich Demidov (1908-1987) was a physicist, a student of Landau, a prisoner of the Kolyma camps, an outstanding Russian writer, and the author of stories and novellas about the life of Gulag prisoners. In the 1980s, the archive of his manuscripts was seized by the KGB. It was only thanks to the persistence of Valentina Georgievna Demidova - the writer's daughter, that the archive was eventually returned and several camp stories were published in the early 1990s, after his death. However, it was only on the centenary of Demidov that the publishing house 'Vozvrashchenie' released four of his books (a collection of stories and an autobiographical novel). In the first and second volumes, we included previously unpublished materials from the investigative cases of G.G. Demidov.
