Goncharov Ivan Alexandrovich (1812-1891)-one of the outstanding Russian prose writers, critic, corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences. This collection of works included the most significant works written in different years.
The first volume entered the novel "Ordinary History" (1847) - the first work of Goncharov, which he found worthy of printing. It was created when the writer entered the mature period of his life, and in its entirety reflects his spiritual maturity.
In the second volume of the works, the first volume of the Pallas Frigate "Flates, written under the impression of a round-the-world trip on the Pallada sailing warship in 1852-1855, entered the second volume of works.
In the third volume of the works, the second volume of the Pallas Frigate "Pallas Frigat, written under the impression of a trip around the Sailing Warship of Pallas in 1852-1855.
The fourth volume entered the Social and Philosophical novel "Oblomov" (1859), whose exit became an artistic discovery and secured the glory of one of the most talented Russian writers for his author.
The fifth volume included the first three parts of the novel "Cliff" (1869) - the last major art of Goncharov.
The sixth volume included the final part of the novel "Cliff" (1869), as well as the selected novels and articles by I.A. Goncharova
