September 1942. Novorossiysk is captured by the fascists. The city's enterprises have been evacuated. In the port waters, a sample of the newest torpedo was secretly flooded by Soviet engineers. Upon learning about this, the Germans began active searches to establish their own production of this powerful weapon. Major Maxim Shelestov's group was tasked with outpacing the enemy, finding and destroying the torpedo. The fighters make their way into the occupied city, hoping to locate the sole survivor of the flooding. They do not anticipate that there is another witness to this secret...
