The magical fairy tales of Wilhelm Hauff, forever inscribing the name of this German writer in the golden fund of world literature, are still enthusiastically read by both children and adults to this day. "Cold Heart" is an instructive fairy tale about a young coal miner, Peter Munk, who decides to change his poor and boring life not by his own efforts, but with the help of magic. In order to obtain wealth, he is willing to make a deal with the sorcerer Dutchman-Michel, but he asks for nothing less than the young man's heart in return for his help. Will Peter make this deal? Will he be able to live for his own pleasure, without experiencing any feelings or emotions, with a cold heart in his chest? The story is adapted for levels A1-A2 (for beginners studying the German language) and is accompanied by comments. After the fairy tale, exercises with keys are offered.
