The Code of Professional Ethics for Lawyers was adopted by the First All-Russian Congress of Lawyers on January 31, 2003, in accordance with the requirements provided by the Federal Law "On Advocacy and the Legal Profession in the Russian Federation." The Code establishes mandatory rules of conduct for each lawyer in the practice of legal activities, as well as the grounds and procedure for holding a lawyer accountable.
The text of the Code is provided by the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation and is presented with all the amendments and additions approved by the All-Russian Congresses of Lawyers.
