This volume includes works of mythological prose in the folklore of the Avars, Dargins, Kumykov, Laks, Lezgin, Nogais, Rutulov, Tabasaranians. The best and perfect examples of myths, mythological and demonological stories, legends, legends and their options, characterizing the tradition of a mythological narrative, have been selected. The texts are grouped according to the thematic principle: cosmogonic and etiological, about heroes-enthusiasts, fire worshipers, about the patrons of hunting and animals, etc. The plots are presented both national-specific, existing only among the peoples of Dagestan, and known among other peoples of the North Caucasus, reflecting the commonality of their spiritual culture. Most of the works are published for the first time. The publication is preceded by an introductory article, the applications provide thorough comments and notes, an explanatory dictionary and pointers.
