The role of genetic factors in the etiology and pathogenesis of various human diseases is discussed. A general characteristic and features of inheritance of chromosomal, monogenic and multifactorial diseases are presented. The clinical and molecular genetic description of more than 370 hereditary diseases classified according to the systemic principle is given. Particular attention is paid to clinical polymorphism and genetic heterogeneity of hereditary pathologies. The final chapters are devoted to the prevention, pharmacogenetics and the possibilities of treating hereditary diseases. To facilitate the perception of the material at the end of each chapter, alphabetical dictionaries of used genetic terms and described diseases are placed. The textbook is equipped with an application in which the methods of modern clinical genetics are considered, as well as subject indicators of hereditary diseases and biochemical terms.
