Civil war in Russia is full of paradoxes. There is still no agreement even on the issue when it started and when it ended. It is not quite clear who fought with whom: red, white, esters, anarchists of different directions, national separatists, not to mention full exotes like Baron Ungerna. Plus still foreign interventions, each of which had their own goals. Fronts as such did not exist. Shelves often had a number less than battalion. The army arose nowhere. Commanders, giving the order, were not sure how it will be fulfilled and whether it will fulfill whether this or that part will fight or draw up, and then it will overdour the opponent"s side.
Alexey Shcherbakov deliberately avoids a detailed description of countless battles and various statistical calculations. All this has already been done by other authors. His goal is to answer the question that still worries historians: why did circumstances in favor of the Bolsheviks? And could civil war be completed in some other way?
