Mikalojus Konstantinas Ciurlionis was an outstanding composer, the founder of Lithuanian symphonic music, a unique artist who attempted to merge two forms of art - music and painting. He had no predecessors and left no followers - his life tragically ended at the peak of his talent at the age of 35. However, his legacy includes around 400 musical compositions and over 300 paintings. He seriously studied exact sciences, was interested in astrology, mythology, philosophy, religious studies, and also showed himself as a poet, publicist, and experimental photographer. Ciurlionis is called the 'Lithuanian genius', the 'calling card of the Lithuanian people'. But was he only Lithuanian?.. The son of a humble organist reached philosophical heights in his work, becoming famous as a 'painter in music and musician in painting', whose multifaceted talent is compared to the great masters of the Renaissance. The book 'Ciurlionis' is the result of the research work of Yuri Shenyavsky, who dedicated his life to studying Ciurlionis's biography and work, written in collaboration with journalist and writer Vladimir Zheltov.
