"It all started with pictures. I was shown the Egyptian Bridge, with a sphinx and a girl who was treating this sphinx to ice cream. And there was real joy and real life in this picture. Unusual, extraordinary, but bright, colorful, happy. And I immediately wanted to get there, into this joyful picture. Look around, talk to the sphinx, take a bite of ice cream... That's why I was very happy to learn that pictures needed poems. And then new pictures needed other poems. That's how this little book came about - in a race: poems chasing pictures, pictures chasing poems. But the very first in our chase were, of course, the bridges. Thank them for the inspiration."
