Carlos Ruiz Zafón (1964–2020) lived only 55 years, but managed to become the most famous Spanish writer since Miguel de Cervantes and earn the reputation of "our time's Borges." Zafón was one of those writers who knew how to create worlds. After the release of the novel "The Shadow of the Wind," which opened the cycle "The Cemetery of Forgotten Books," critics started talking about a new name in literature, and readers simply greeted each of his new books with delight, anticipating intellectual and aesthetic pleasure. The collection of stories "The City of Mist" was conceived as a tribute to the numerous fans of the cycle, eager to once again immerse themselves in the beloved atmosphere of melancholic romance and ancient streets of Barcelona, and, fortunately, Carlos Ruiz Zafón managed to give readers this farewell gift.
