In the monograph, on the example of two cities in Central Spain, Sepulved, and Cuellar, one of the key medieval problems is considered - the nature of the medieval urban system and the form of its inclusion in the system of feudal power. In detail, the history of studying the problem, submitted, taking into account the complex intellectual and historical context, was investigated. The general features of the Castilian territorial community (consight) as a specific form of medieval urban system are analyzed. It is emphasized that the consumption of XIII is the middle of the XIV century. He was not so much an independent institution of local governance, as a tool of the senory authorities, which ensures the interaction of the senor (including the king) and the community dependent on it. A detailed analysis of the internal mechanisms, which determined the dependent position of the medieval conssee,, including the land tenure system.
