Mario Vargas Llosa (b. 1936) is a Peruvian writer, one of the prominent figures in Latin American literature, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2010, the Cervantes Prize, and other prestigious awards, a member of the French Academy, and a knight of the Legion of Honor. The collection includes the novels "The Time of the Hero" and "The Green House."
"The Time of the Hero" is a novel about life in a Peruvian military school. Cadets Jaguar, Python, Curly, and Kava once again steal exam tickets from the teacher's office to sell them for profit. But this time they leave traces, triggering an internal investigation during which everyone is deprived of their passes. Everyone in the unit knows who stole the tickets, but will they all have the courage to accept punishment for something they did not do?
In the novel "The Green House," Mario Vargas Llosa creates a puzzle that takes the reader through memories of his childhood, immersing them in the atmosphere of the Peruvian jungle.
