A monographic study is devoted to audiovisual archives and documents. In the age of television and electronic means of information about these archives and documents, everyone is able to argue. At the same time, due to the lack of genuine scientific information on archival films, photographs, sound and video recording, professional knowledge remains actually inaccessible. Audiovisual archives and documents are presented in a very wide context on a sufficiently represented source database. Modern historical knowledge of film phototophonocuments is formed by combining the methods and techniques of source studies, archival, archeography and art history. The composition and content of the most striking film, photoconductances relating to the Archival Foundation of the Russian Federation are described and analyzed. A detailed consideration of these unique historical sources is complemented and completed with an essay of theoretical and practical problems of source learning and archival of the entire combination of audiovisual documents.
