Arkady Gaidar is a legendary figure. The most incredible stories were told about his life, and all of them are pure truth. He himself said: "It was an ordinary biography and an extraordinary time." At the age of 14, he went to the Civil War, at 17 he commanded a regiment, and he died on the front lines during the Great Patriotic War. He started writing in the 1920s and in his works created a happy country in which he himself fervently believed. Several generations of Soviet children grew up on his books.
