Personality and activities of St. Philaret (Drozdov), Metropolitan of Moscow and Kolomensky, have long been an object of attention and study of historians, theologians and philologists. "The chronicle of the life and ministry of St. Filaret (Drozdova)" is a sub-chronicle, built over the years and months, a set of facts related to the life and activities of St. Filaret. The chronicle includes those church, state, political and literary events that could not not be in the field of attention of Metropolitan Filaret, as well as quotes from his letters, sermons, opinions and resolutions, from the memories of contemporaries. Volume 1 covers the period from 1782 to 1825
