Joasafsky Chronicle - the original monument of the Moscow annals of the first quarter of the 16th century. This historical source that has survived in the only list combines the information of the previous Moscow and all -Russian annals of the second half of the XV - early XVI century. The Joasafsky Chronicle retained a number of unique news on the history of Moscow, its suburbs and rural districts. Moreover, it is an important source that reflects various stages of the formation of the Russian state, its foreign and domestic policy in 1437-1520. The Joasafsky Chronicle was one of the main sources of the All-Russian Nikon Chronicle Code compiled in the Metropolitan Scriptor under the leadership of Metropolitan Daniil Ryazan in the second half of the 1520s and the beginning of the 1530s. The main text of the Joasafsky Chronicle was preserved in the only list of editorial editing and additions written by the hand of Metropolitan Daniel. Later, this manuscript belonged to Metropolitan Joasaph (Skripitsyn, T 1555), which possessed a library rich in diverse. The new edition of the source has updated readings of the source text, as well as a more accurate description of its manuscript.
