Ademar Shabannsky (989-1034)- one of the most famous historiographers of the XI century. Several of his works of different genres have reached this day, among which the central place occupies the "chronicle" - a key source on the history of France in the XI century. On its pages, a picture of the emergence of a new world - the lordic feuds and the force of monasteries, which will soon soon become the basis of a powerful socio -economic rise in Western Europe, is clearly outlined. In addition to the actual historical story, the "chronicle" is interesting in that, reading it, we can “penetrate” into the scriptorium where this work was created: we see the circle of sources that the historian had, we can analyze the methods of work and outline the range of issues that most of all, which are most of all Interested in a medieval monk.
