"Dickens conceived 'A Christmas Carol' as a social sermon, and in the 1840s, every Christmas saw the publication of one of the five stories. Through artistic images, the author addressed both poor and wealthy readers, hoping for the improvement of the former and the 'moral correction' of the latter. The result was a cycle of five works translated into all world languages, repeatedly adapted for the screen, and truly becoming immortal classics of world literature. In this cycle, fairy tales and reality, fantasy and reality are mixed, alongside people, mythological and folk characters, and in the end, Good inevitably triumphs over Evil, virtue prevails, and vice is punished. And we, children and adults, really want to believe that Christmas miracles do happen..."
