The author of the textbook, Professor Igor Grigoryevich Esaulov, a laureate of several all-Union competitions of ballet masters, a student of choreographers L. M. Lavrovsky, R. V. Zakharov, Yu. N. Grigorovich, L. V. Yakobson, K. A. Esaulova, with extensive experience in working on ballet productions and small dance forms in theaters, having been a teacher of the discipline "Choreography Directing" for many years, has detailed the main stages of training and shaping the future choreo-dramaturge. Professor I. G. Esaulov shows that choreography dramaturgy fundamentally differs from the dramaturgy of other stage genres, it is an independent science that needs to be studied, like other sciences.
