The author extensively studies the phenomenon of choral theater. Based on the analysis of the activities of well-known domestic choral groups, as well as the author's personal performance experience (as the director of the Chamber Choral Theater of the Shakhty Music College and as an artist of the Rostov Synth-Choir 'Singers of the Quiet Don'), not only the theoretical foundations of this phenomenon are explored, but also the specifics of the conductor's, director's, and artists' activities in choral theater are identified, and its genre palette is compiled.
The book is addressed to teachers and students of music universities and colleges, directors of choral groups, musicologists, as well as all lovers of choral music.
