P. G. Chesnokov is one of the greatest masters of Russian choral culture, who contributed to raising it to a new, highest level with his diverse musical activities. This work is dedicated to a cappella choir, without instrumental accompaniment. The book is divided into two parts: choral studies and choral conducting. The first part addresses three main questions: what is a choir, what are the elements of choral sound, and what are the ways to identify and develop these elements. The goal of the second part is to define practical methods of choir management. This manual is intended for students of secondary specialized music educational institutions.
