Adi Shankara, i.e. The initial Shankara, unlike the titles of the heads of the monastic orders, or Shankaracharya (788-812 AD), is the greatest philosopher of Hinduism and the founder of the Adway Vedanta school. The most important works: comments on Brahma Sutra, 11 senior Upanishad and Bhagavad-gita. The author of a number of magnificent hymns and religious and philosophical poems, including Vivekudamani (diamond in the crown of distinction)
Bhagavan Sri Raman Maharshi is one of the greatest spiritual teachers of the 20th century. At the age of 16, he spontaneously reached enlightenment, or self-realization, awareness of the true Self. In our time, his teaching serves as an inspiring example of the path of knowledge specified earlier than the Upanishad sages, Buddha (563-483 BC) and Adi Shankara.
At the request of his admirers, Sri Raman translated the poem by Vivekudaman into the Tamil language prose. According to him, Shankara interpreted in detail the essence of the Vedanta and its meaning so that the most zealous of those striving for liberation could get acquainted with her and achieve immortality. Therefore, this publication will be extremely useful to all directed spiritual practices.
