Tetrabiglos is the oldest guide for Western astrology, whose “father” is considered Ptolemy. For several centuries, the treatise was the main aid for astrology, and then was considered one of the most authoritative guidelines. In Tetrabiglos, Ptolemy described the traditional provisions of astrology, agreeing them with Aristotelian ideas about nature and matter. The first part of the treatise describes the general concepts of astrology, in the second - the influence of heavenly phenomena on the weather, in the third and fourth - on humans. In addition to the actual astrological material, Ptolemy in the Tetrabiglos first expressed a deep philosophical idea of the incomparable heavenly movements and, therefore, the impossibility of a complete repetition of events.
