The fourth book of our collection of the “Doctrines of the Soul” is the third part of the fundamental mystical and esoteric tetralogy “Revelation of Hermes Trismegist” by Andre-Jean Festium, an outstanding researcher of classical antiquities and priest of the Roman-Catholic Order of Preachers (St. Dominic)
It is in the Doctrines of the Soul that the author first touches the depths of Hellenistic and early Christian Gnosticism, who grew up on the basis of the synthesis of three spiritual traditions: ancient Egyptian, ancient and Judeo -Christian. For the first time, he considers the hypothesis of Platonists and Neoplatonists about the existence of several demiurges in a single divine essence, in which allusion is traced for the subsequent development of Christian theology. Undoubtedly, the narrative is organized around the ancient Greek myth of psycho (perfectly transferred by the Roman classic Apuley) - suffering, loving and wandering around the world, leading to the admiration of the erot, love, turning from a sensual level to the highest spiritual. We understand that we are talking about ancient initiations, to which members of hermetic communities and fraternities were allowed, leading from Orpheus and Pythagoras themselves. The translation of this work was made by Vladimir Tkachenko-Gilderandt in the same style with parts of the mystical and esotralogy Andre-Zhan Festuzhier, who has already published in our publishing house.
