Revelation of Hermes Trismegist

The second book of the second volume of the “Cosmic God” from the fundamental work of Andre-Jean Festuzhier “Revelation of Hermes Trismegit” translated into Russian by Vladimir Tkachenko-Gildebrandt is devoted to the problem of the formation of Hellenistic monotheism-as the result of the meeting of Greco-Roman and Jewish traditions during the Hellenization countries of the Middle East. The form of this process could be the hermetic communities of the 1st century BC for the crystallization of this process. and the 1st century A.D.
In general, this period of eclectic philosophy and the emergence of a new worldview on its basis during the intellectual and spiritual synthesis of the Festuzher associates with two amazing figures - Posidonius of the Rhodes, from which only fragments have come to us, and Filon Alexandria, the main array of whose works is not translated into Russian. The connecting link in the synthesis was the doctrine of the “cosmic logos” of Filon of Alexandria, whom Friedrich Engels called the “father of Christianity”.
