Practice Guide to Surgery

Makhasi Sayado, author of the "Practice of Surveys", is considered one of the most implemented Buddhist scientists and masters of meditation of the twentieth century. In this treatise he wrote in detail, doctrinal and practical aspects of attentive observation (Satipatthana) and the development of seeing knowledge (Vipassana), up to the achievement of nibbana, higher freedom, are described.
Makhasi Sayado gives detailed instructions both in practice that precedes the meditation of insight and in the practice of the development of insight, from initial to the most advanced levels. Of particular value to practitioners is a description of meditative experiences, starting from the first days of practice and until the first stage of enlightenment, known as “joining”. The book also gives a comprehensive model to assess its development of knowledge of insight. Makhasi Sayado explains in detail the various blinding effects that appear along with the development of concentration, as well as ten distortions of insight, sometimes called pseudonibbana. The signs of the achievement of each level of development of knowledge of inspection up to the experience of enlightenment are indicated.
